Container Types
Explore our wide range of shipping container types, from standard to specialized solutions.
The standard shipping container is the most widely used container in the world. It is a simple, strong, steel box with double doors at one end and a flat wooden floor inside. Whether you are storing goods, shipping cargo overseas, or planning a conversion project, this is the container most people start with. We stock them in all popular sizes and in both new and used condition.
Side opening containers have full length doors along one side, giving you wide open access to the entire interior. This makes loading and unloading much faster, especially when you are using a forklift or dealing with long items like timber or piping. They are a popular choice for retail, events, and any situation where you need to get to your goods quickly.
Open top containers come with a removable tarpaulin or hard top roof, so you can load cargo from above using a crane or overhead gantry. They are designed for tall or awkward items that will not fit through a standard door, such as machinery, sculptures, or building materials. The rest of the container is built to the same tough standard as our regular units.
Tunnel containers have doors at both ends, which means you can load from one side and unload from the other. This is really useful on busy sites where access is limited, or when you need a drive through setup for vehicles and equipment. They are also known as double ended containers and are available in 20ft and 40ft lengths.
Double door containers feature extra wide doors that open the full width of the container, giving you maximum access for loading and unloading. They are ideal for storing vehicles, large machinery, or bulky furniture. The wider opening also makes them a great starting point for container conversions where you want a big entrance or shopfront.
Our refrigerated containers, often called reefers, keep your goods at a controlled temperature from minus 25 up to plus 25 degrees Celsius. They are used by food suppliers, pharmaceutical companies, and event caterers who need reliable cold storage on site. Each unit runs on a standard three phase power supply and comes fully tested before delivery.
Flat rack containers have a strong steel floor with collapsible or fixed end walls and no sides or roof. They are purpose built for carrying oversized or heavy cargo like machinery, pipes, boats, and construction materials. The open design makes them easy to load from the side or top, and they can be folded flat for return shipping when not in use.
Insulated containers are lined with thermal panels that help maintain a stable temperature inside, without the need for a refrigeration unit. They are a cost effective way to protect temperature sensitive goods from heat and cold during storage or transport. Many of our customers use them for storing wine, chocolate, pharmaceuticals, and other products that need a consistent environment.
